Dutch grew up on his family's sheep ranch in northern Nevada. His grandfather's favorite working dog, a border collie name El Capitan, escaped during a trade show and “made friends” with a pure bred show dog. A few months later, the family received a delivery of somewhat purebred border collies puppies. With no place to keep them, Dutch worked throughout the night using scrap wood and materials gathered from the ranch. By morning, El Capitan and his new family had a new home and Dutch had his calling. Though the family would soon sell the ranch and leave Dutch’s makeshift dog house behind, Dutch would never lose his passion for woodworking. Dutch, along with El Capitan’s great grandson Txakur, continue that tradition to this day making handcrafted, one of a kind custom wood furniture.

We craft all our products by hand. Each piece of wood that comes through our shop is planed, cut, sanded, and built by hand. We become intimately close with each of projects and provide a quality finished product. While our work is found coast to coast and worldwide, we are committed to supporting local businesses in the Puget Sound area. When we say we work with local mills, salvage yards, and suppliers, we mean it. All our partners suppliers are local Puget Sound businesses. Select the markers below to learn more.
